Nightingale Village welcomes residents
Residents from the recently completed Nightingale Village in Brunswick came together to celebrate their new community “block party style” at Bulleke-bek Park.
They were joined by the architects, builders, supporters, neighbours, and collaborators behind Nightingale Village and Nightingale Anstey for the festivities.
It follows the construction of Housing Choices 21 new social and affordable and specialist disability apartments at Nightingale Village in Brunswick Victoria, which are within a precinct of six neighbouring buildings, each designed by a different award-winning architect.
The Village is one of several social and affordable developments brought to life through a partnership between Housing Choices and developer Nightingale Housing, which also includes Nightingale Anstey. Adjacent to Anstey train station, this development is ideally positioned to support social, environmental, and financial stability.
The partnership is delivering new social, affordable and specialist disability homes to low-income Australians in a model that shows social and affordable homes can be environmentally sustainable, have low living costs and build community.
Another Victorian project that reflects the unique partnership is Nightingale Ballarat.
Completed in 2021 Nightingale Ballarat was a world first opportunity to understand the benefits of social and affordable tenancies within an owner occupier development featuring outstanding environmentally sustainable design.
